Liechtenstein is a principality located between Switzerland and Austria. Around 40,000 people live here. At 160 square kilometers, it is the fourth smallest state in Europe and the sixth smallest in the world.
Overall, there are people from over 100 different nations living in Liechtenstein. This means that there is a large linguistic, cultural, and ethnic diversity in Liechtenstein.
In May 2020, the study "Integration in Liechtenstein" was published. Based on this, the integration strategy was developed. In 2021, the government approved the integration strategy. The goal of the integration strategy is the successful integration of all people in Liechtenstein.
Integration means: All people live and work well together. They stand together and accept each other. Integration is important and remains important. Therefore, migrants are supported and challenged.
The Ministry of Society, together with a steering group, has created an annual plan. It states which projects and measures are to be carried out or started in a given year.
The plan will be evaluated with the steering group at the end of the year. After that, a new plan will be created for the following year.
You can find the annual plan for 2025 here:
The monitoring report on the annual planning 2024 provides information on the implementation status of the measures.
